Our Story
Read about our journey from our founding in 1993. Three decades later, New York Fire continues to grow with the same principles it was founded on: technical discipline, accountability, and long-term commitment to the systems and people we protect.
The 1990s — Founding Years
1993 – New York Fire Detection, Inc. Founded
After 12 years in the fire alarm industry, Ron Savastano founded New York Fire Detection, Inc.. From the start, he was joined by what is now our Head of Engineering and two Senior Account Executives — all of whom remain with the company today.
1995 – New York Fire Service, Inc. Established
New York Fire Service, Inc. was established to support both contractors and end users with a dedicated focus on service, maintenance, and the customer experience. Our first three field technicians joined the team during this period and are still with us today. Two have since advanced into Senior Service Supervisor roles, leading our technical service division.
1998 – New Facility & Expanded On-Site Inventory
The company relocated from a small facility in Flushing, Queens to a larger headquarters with a fully stocked parts inventory. This move allowed us to respond more quickly to customer needs and ensure systems remained fully operational without unnecessary delays.
